This year many people around Tuscaloosa are getting into the Roll Tide sprit. People who I have know for 10 years and only cared about football when the parking around their house was taken, are calling me and asking for updates on the game. Another person I know went to her second game ever last week. In the 5 years previous she had been to 1 game and not cared about it at all; last week she sat in the freezing cold the entire game smiling from ear to ear.

The City of Tuscaloosa is now picking up old or unusable American flags to dispose of the properly.
According to NBC 13 - The worn, tattered flags and otherwise unserviceable flags will then be respectfully destroyed in one of their semi-annual flag retirement ceremonies.
The preferred method for properly retiring worn flags under Federal law is burning and the flags will be placed on a ceremonial pyre and set ablaze.
