Doing live shows on the road are one of my very favorite things to do. Friday, we did Good Morning Arkansas and Midday Arkansas from the Junction Bridge in Downtown Little Rock/North Little Rock. The day was absolutely gorgeous with starting temps in the low 60's and it was only around 70 when we wrapped up. Doing a live show on a bridge that is 60 feet above the Arkansas River is a feat unto itself. We had 2000 feet of cable, lots of lights, and 15 crew members to make it happen. I must brag on our crews because I believe we do live, on location shows better than anyone locally, and possibly nationally. I have posted a slide show below of the day's adventure on the old blog. The pictures include candid pictures of crew as well as bridge pictures and views you will see if you ever venture out on the bridge.
We are proud to announce that Newstar is now available for School, Daycare, and Church visits! We will give a tour of Newstar, and explain what it is used for and why we use it. Plus, we will even give away a few prizes. You can schedule a visit with Newstar and Myself by emailing me at Not even an absolute gorgeous sunset can mask the destruction in Stuttgart. I was here Saturday night no more than an hour after the storm. There was still water soaked insulation covering the street, and people were just coming to the realization of what had happened. Tonight (Monday) I am in virtually the same spot I was on Saturday Night, and it looks totally different. The trees that were blocking the road are now hauled off the road, and much of the small debris is picked up that was all over the ground on Saturday night. The above picture was taken out the side door of Newstar. We are at Meekins Middle School, and as you can see from the picture, it sustained substantial damage and as of now, officials are not sure if the students will even be returning to this building. In the foreground, you can see parts of the radio tower that once stood just across the street from here. Everytime I asked how someone is doing in any of these tornado-ravaged areas, everybody said back to me, "I'm Alive". That is not the case in our neighboring states, but fortunately and amazingly, nobody died here Saturday night, and after seeing the destruction first hand, that is truly a miracle in itself. -B
